Brief Description of the Project:

The overall project aim was train 10,000 community members, forest association members and NRM staff including 500 females on participatory watershed management, particularly forest management, reforestation, soil erosion, operation and maintenance of watersheds, conflict resolution issues on NRM and protection of watershed in targeted provinces of Balkh, Samangan and Badakhshan.

Brief Description of the Project:

the project is solely implemented by GAALO and has trained 1,000 farmers, members of associations and civil servants including 150 females on best practices of on-farm water management techniques, improved irrigation techniques and alternative to drip systems in Balkh, Samangan and Badakhshan provinces.

Brief Description of the Project:

AECOM has assigned GAALO to train 3,023 farmers, members of associations and civil servants in on-farm water management techniques and to establish 23 Drip Irrigation Demo-plots in three targeted provinces of Balkh, Badakhshan and Samangan in north Afghanistan.

Brief Description of the Project:

Under this project GAALO has established 80 goat farms to 80 households in Farza district of Kabul province, distributed white straw, Barley, Salt, oil cake and hey sufficient amount for 6 months, provided training and mentorship to farm beneficiaries and facilitated veterinary and treatment to livestock in the farms.

Throughout the project GAALO has established 60 cow farms to 860 households in Kama district of Nangarhar province, distributed best quality concentrate, DCP and hygiene kit sufficient for a period of 6 months, provided training and mentorship to farm beneficiaries and facilitated veterinary and treatment to livestock in the farms.

Brief Description of the Project:

Raising awareness on biodiversity conservation, mitigation and prevention of urban pollution and climate actions through arranging mobile theatre to 26,230 high school students, capacity building trainings to Kabul based Civil Society Organizations and Social Event to encourage the CSO’s CBO’s, government stakeholders and general population to help contribute in conservation of biodiversity, mitigation and prevention of urban pollution and stepping-up efforts protecting the environment, strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-induced impacts.

CPI Project Information:

On 24th February 2019,
GAALO and Counterpart International, Inc., have countersigned the sub-grant
agreement number: ACEP GMG-19-04-01 with the aim to strengthen and promote good
governance through monitoring government by building a coalition and network of
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), strengthening there capacities on effective
and efficient ways of advocacy for combating corruption in education sector of
Afghanistan.

Similarly, an advocacy working committee composed of trained civil society members will be established to identify the areas of corruption and put ways forward to curb down it causes and effects in education sector in Afghanistan. The committee will review the policy guidelines of MoE to eliminate corruption in education system in Afghanistan.

During the Advocacy and Anti-corruption Training at GAALO

MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION TRAINING IN KABUL, NANGARHAR AND BAMYAN PROVINCE – SEPTEMBER 1, 2017 TO MARCH 31, 2018

GAALO trained 300 Job seekers and Mid career employees in Media and Communication in Kabul, Nangarhar and Bamyan Provinces. The beneficiaries included 225 males and 75 females. A regular communication and coordination with HR department of various Media and Communication groups could pave the way for tracking vacancies and finding suitable jobs for job seekers. This helped to develop job opportunities for the M & C training graduates. The project was funded by CREATIVE through Afghan Workforce Development Program (AWDP). The project started on September 1, 2017 and completed on March 31, 2018.
